I arrived the midnight of 1st February at Ulaanbaatar Airport.
Several members of the Mongolian United Powerlifting Federation met me at the airport..Outside temperature was -29 degree. I felt strange hardness to brease. So cold!
The hotel was Bayangol Hotel. This will be the official hotel for the Asian Powerlifting Championships of coming May. Nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.
The big restaurant was closed because there were not much guest in the winter season. Of course it was too cold to do the sightseeing.They will be open at the Asian Championships.
The restaurant at the second floor served Traditional Mongolian food. I enjoyed them.
The next day, I met new President of the federation. His name is Chimed Saikhanbileg. He is parliament member and doing powerlifting training for 2 years. He now can benchpress 160kg. Very impressive!
I had several meeting with the federation. Tro the chairman of the federation is the leading power of Mongolia.
Mogi who translated Mongolian to English help me so many times during my stay in Mongolia.
I want to say thank you for many many members of Mongolian Federation who worked hard for this National Championships and coming Asian Championships..
I pointed out several things for them to do the good level of Asian Championships.
I also saw their National Championships. This was 3 days competition and it started in the morning and finished almost mid night every day. The number of competitor was 170.
Goodlift System was introduced first time to Mongolia Nationals and even though they had some difficulty to use them properly, I believe they can handle this system in Asian Championships.
Eleikofs barbell sets and rack will be ordered from them soon, and we can expect high level competition in Ulaanbaatar this coming May.
The temperature of May? I heard it will be not so cold. Do not worry.
